March 26, 2015 | Susan Lewis - Falmouth, ME -- United States

I remember Neville from all his years at Christchurch in Portland, Maine. He liked to bring his tamborene and play it when we sang during the music portion of our celebration.
He was a good man. Peace be to his memory.

March 22, 2015 | Hilmar Jensen and Phyllis Graber Jensen - Lewiston, Maine -- USA

Neville was a sweet, generous, dedicated, and principled man. We knew him as a colleague and co-worker at Bates College from 1992 through 2006. We were privileged to spend time with him on campus and share dinner with him and Colette at their home in Topsham. He will be missed by all who knew him here. Hilmar Jensen (Professor of US & African American History, Bates College) and Phyllis Graber Jensen(Director of Photography & Video, Bates College)

March 20, 2015 | Paula & Andre Michaud - Edmundston, New Brunswick -- Canada

When we lose a loved one here on earth, we gain an angel in heaven that watches over us. May you take comfort in knowing that you have an angel to watch over you now.

We extend our most sincere condolences to you.

March 20, 2015 | Melani McGuire - Lewiston, Maine -- United States

I have many found memories of Neville at Bates College. He was a fine colleaugue with a warm heart and a strong sense of self.

March 20, 2015 | Jeff Kazin - Lewiston, Maine -- USA

Neville was a custodian in my dorm when I was a student at Bates. He used to tell stories about his time in, and leading, the NAACP in the northeast, and about playing is beloved saxophone. He would come in to our rooms during winter and vacuum out the piles of sand that would collect under our desks even though he didn't have to. When we reminded him of this fact he would always say that he was happy to do it because it gave him another potential opportunity to talk with students.

He made a point to get to know every student on the floors he cleaned, especially first-years who were still adjusting to college life. He was loved by all the students on his floors and will be greatly missed.
