Larry and I were so sorry to see that Mike died.
He was my supervisor at SF Public library.
We shared our interests in UFOs, Michael Scallion's maps and predictions, meeting fascinating library patrons while on our reference desk assignments and a perspective on working at the library.
I tired many times in the last few years to get in touch with Mike and Linda(even at her job),but I was not able to contact either of them. Mike had a severe hearing problem and the last time we spoke, I could tell it was hard on him.
Mike would have really enjoyed the current Congressional hearings about space aliens and their crafts.
Rest in peace Mike. Thank you for all the fun times we shared.
Our best wishes and condolences to Linda & her brother. So sorry to hear about Mike.

Mike was a senior at the University of Maine when I was a graduate student there, and how acutely, from my secluded carrel in the library, I listened for his footfall! I chased him, that summer, down to Bar Harbor, and to other places thereafter, in a relationship, that, fortunately for us both, never approached marriage. I think I last saw him in1967, and once, in what now must be 25-plus years ago, he called just to say hello. Otherwise we've not been in touch at all -- a sad thing for us now-old people, who have long perspectives, and sometimes even some wisdom, to share. He affected me, and for the better -- with the scraps of German and Russian I still carry around, with the passion with which he embraced some poets and some places, and with a quick, bright brain that cried out in youthful rage at the inscrutable nature of the universe! And, despite standing me up more than once, he was softly kind. I have thought fondly of him often, and will do so still.
From that ancient experience I offer some corrections to the obituary: he earned his UME degree after high school, then was in the army, then earned his degree in library science from Simmons, in Boston.
