Biography:

Lewiston- James A. Williams, 83, of Lewiston, ME, passed away on Feb. 05, 2013 at Russell Park Nursing Home after a long illness.

He was born on Dec. 15, 1929 and schooled in Calais, ME and moved to Lewiston in 1948.  He was  employed with Bates Mills and was later self-employed as a painter.  He loved hunting, fishing, and attending the horse-races at Lewiston Fairgrounds.

James was predeceased by his parents, and his wife Yvette T. Williams.

James is survived by his daughter Elaine and her husband Ray Shannon of Delta Junction, Alaska., sons Steve Williams of Topsham and Dennis Williams of Falmouth, MA., in-laws Mrs. Julien St. Pierre of Lewiston, Mrs. Marguerite Thibault of Lewiston, Mrs. Denise Morin of Lewiston, Phil and Yolande Gagne of Portland, Andy and Monique Gagne of Lewiston, and many nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.  James is also survived by his neighbor and close friend Rita Plourde

A Committal Ceremony will be held on Friday, Feb. 08 2013, 1:30pm in the chapel at St. Peter’s Cemetery, 217 Switzerland Ave, Lewiston
