Brian "OLP" Whiter

Biography:

Brian "OLP" Whiter, age 73, of Woolwich Maine, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2024, at Togus Springs VA Hospital in Augusta Maine.  

 

Brian was born in Utica, NY, on May 23, 1950, the son of the late Gerald Whiter and Ruth Frances Murray. He was raised in Ilion, NY. On January 21, 1969, Brian joined the United States Marine Corps where he earned several honors including a National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and earned a Rifle Marksman Badge. In 1999 Brian moved to Woolwich Maine where he spent years as a welder at Bath Iron Works and officially retired in 2013. 

 

 

Brian could be found with a book in his hand or in his backyard "garden". He had a love for traveling and meeting new faces. He enjoyed his time with his friends at Maxwell's and visited NY often to see his family and his many friends.  

 

 

Survivors include two sons, Brian (Jennifer) Whiter II  of Ilion, NY and Dakota Whiter of Latham, NY, One sister, Debbie Whiter of Ithaca, NY, six grandchildren, Mason, Dane, Trinity, Connor, Jackson and Charlie. Brian is also survived by the mother of his children Barbara Edwards. He is predeceased by his parents Gerald Whiter and Ruth Murray and a brother Vernon Whiter. 

 

 

To honor Brian's wishes, there will be no funeral service. Please celebrate Brian in your own way. As per Brian II and Dakota go have drink and a nap at Crossway's.
