Biography:

POWNAL -- Barbara R. (Doyle) Ward, 93, of Pownal died July 24, 2014, at home. 
She was born May 14, 1921, in Portland, the daughter of Daniel J. (Jim) and Rena P. (Crockett) Doyle. Barbara was educated in the Portland school system and graduated from Portland High School in 1940.
She was employed at the South Portland Shipyard at Spring Point during WWII. She worked at Pineland Hospital and provided private duty healthcare until retirement.
She is survived by her husband, Donald H. Ward of Pownal and they would have celebrated their 71st anniversary in August; her children: sons, Donald J. (Hilda) of Ft. Myers, Fla., Frank (Tunky) and (Judy) of Plaistow, NH, daughters, Barbara Ward of Yarmouth, Linda (Rodney) Cleaves of Greenville, Suzanne (Raymond) Fochler of Pownal and was predeceased by her daughter, Karen Ward. She leaves 12 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Her family would like to thank the CHANS Hospice staff, especially, Lori G., Cindy F., Linda G., and Barbara W. For their care and commitment.
