David Joel Tuttle

Biography:

Brunswick – David Joel Tuttle, 74, of Bath, Me passed away on January 9, 2025 due to complications. He is survived by his loving husband Gil Short.

After graduating from BGSU in Ohio, he entered to Navy as a teacher at the Great Lakes Training Center in Chicago where he met Gil.

Later they moved to Nashua, NH where they worked until they could build their dream home in Pittsburg, NH. David taught elementary education at Stratford Public Schools and Gil worked at the local newspaper. David saved all of his class photos, with all the students identified neatly in an album. Past students would send letters of their accomplishments, and he saved them all. One of his proudest moments was when the graduating class asked him to be the speaker at commencement.

Gil and David moved to Bath, Maine when they retired where they shared many happy memories in the ten years that they lived there.

David will be missed, especially by Gil and David’s five siblings. But David will be remembered with love and many happy memories. In Lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the City of Bath Ambulance Service, 864 High St. Bath, ME 04530
