Date of Birth: December 17, 1933

Biography:

Rose Elizabeth Tuttle found peace with her family by her side after a life well lived on May 24, 2022. Rose was born in Rochester Vermont on December 17, 1933 to Albert and Elizabeth Guilmette, and spent most of her early life in Vermont. After spending a brief time in Virginia and Connecticut, Rose and her three children relocated to Maine. While in Maine, Rose met and married Herbert Tuttle. Together they provided a loving home to Rose’s three children as well as four foster children they later adopted. Rose had a passion for traveling and was notorious for family car trips to places like Florida, Connecticut, and Texas. For many years after Herb passed, Rose devoted her time to family and friends. In recent years, Rose spent time forming a special friendship with Roger Libby of Montana, a longtime family acquaintance. Rose and Roger spent hours talking on the phone, exchanging letters and text messages, and even traveled between Maine and Montana to spend time together.

Rose was an extremely hard worker, holding two and sometimes three jobs to provide for her family. With most of her career spent working in healthcare as a nursing assistant. She enjoyed caring for patients and her compassion was felt through the loving care she provided. She was also crafty and a talented green thumb she could often be found working on a quilt, knitting, or tending to her beautiful purple begonias that greeted you from her doorstep. Rose was a devoted sports fan and spent many hours watching sporting events on TV, especially her beloved New York Yankees. She had a passion for cooking and will be remembered by many for her fudge, meatballs, holiday fruit cake and a large assortment of canned goods. Rose is survived by her special friend Roger Libby, her children, Vicky Westleigh, Marty Tuttle, Fawn Tingly, Warren Dall, Marilyn Dall, Penny Hill (David) and Dennis Tuttle (Lydia), several grandchildren, a large extended family, and numerous friends. The family would like to thank the staff of both Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice and Montello Manor for the compassionate care they provided. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice in her name.
