Biography:

Augusta-Duane E. Tracy, 78, met his Savior face to face having fought the good fight with Pulmonary Fibrosis on May 4, 2011 at his residence.

He was born November 2, 1932 in Sherman Mills the son of Elwood and Leda Tracy.  Duane was one who walked and loved his faith in God.  One who proclaimed “All days are good-some are even better”.  One who’s hands were always extended to those calling for help.

Duane grew up in Windsor and graduated from Cony High School the class of 1951.  In 1952 he married his high school sweetheart Una Palmer.  He was drafted into the US Army in 1953 and served two years in Salzburg, Austria.  Upon being discharged from the military, he worked for New England Telephone Co. and AT&T for over 30 years.  Duane was a 30 year member of Fellowship Baptist Church and served several years as a deacon and treasurer.  He was a 53 year member of Dirigo Lodge of Masons.  Duane was also a Ham Radio Operator with the call sign KC1AC.

He was predeceased by his parents, and his only brother Sheldon Tracy who drowned on 1963.  He is survived by the love of his life Una Tracy of Augusta, daughter Wanda Jolly and her husband Larry of South Carolina, son’s Brian and Bruce Tracy of Augusta, grandchildren Benjamin, Adam and Jonathan Jolly of South Carolina.

A memorial service to share remembrances will take place on Saturday, June 4th at 2pm at the Fellowship Baptist Church 237 Eastern Ave. Augusta, Me 04330.
