Biography:

Ernest Tibbals Jr.—Lewiston, Maine—Ernest Tibbals, Jr. died Thursday, February 23, 2017 in a Lewiston Nursing Home. He was born on April 9, 1931 a son of Ernest and Minerva Steeves Tibblas Sr. Ernest graduated from Gilbert High School in Winsted, CT. His family then moved to New Hampshire where he began working at a local hospital. Ernest enlisted in the U.S. Army serving in the Korean War. He then worked as a respiratory therapist and instituted the respiratory therapy program at the VA hospital in White River Junction, VT. He was president of the New Hampshire-Vermont Respiratory Therapists. After retiring he worked as a custodian in the local schools. Ernest enjoyed bowling and loved the Boston Red Sox. He was predeceased by his wife Marjorie. Survivors include his children, Katherine and husband Michael Conway of Grantham, NH, Judith and husband Keith Whelchel of Brunswick, ME, two grandchildren, Katrina and Maisie and one great grandchild, Annabelle and a brother, Paul. Services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Alzheimer's Association 382 U.S. Route One, Suite 2, Scarborough, ME 04074.
