Cecile R. Thompson

Biography:

Cecile Richard Thompson, 78, of South Portland, Maine passed away Monday after a brief illness.

She was born on November 19, 1936 in Machias, Maine and was predeceased by her parents Albert Richard and Julia Bucknam Richard of Columbia Falls, Maine.  Cecile is survived by her two children, Rebecca Reardon of South Freeport, Maine and David Thompson of Seattle, Washington and their spouses David Reardon and Angie Thompson along with her Grandson Alex Reardon of South Freeport, Maine. She is also survived by several cousins.

Cecile graduated from Husson College and supported her husband’s 20 year career in the United States Coast Guard.  After her divorce from Earle A. Thompson of Jonesport, she relocated to South Portland where she spent the last 28 years. She retired from Casey Family Services and filled her days with photography and travel.

Cecile had an adventurous and compassionate spirit.  She made those around her feel welcome and comfortable.   When she wasn’t seeking adventure with her family and friends, she enjoyed volunteering with Meals on Wheels and the Spring Point Lighthouse Museum.

There will be a Celebration of her life at Bug Light Park in South Portland, Maine from 3-5 pm on Saturday, July 19^th.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to:  Columbia Falls United Methodist Church, PO Box 72 Columbia Falls, ME  04623.
