Biography:

Marion J. Thomas, 90, long time resident of Portland , died on January 9^th, 2013 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice with her loving family by her side. She was born on October 12^th, 1922 in Portland , the daughter of William and Mary (Gorrivan) Steele. Marion attend school at St. Mary’s and the Cathedral. She was a long time homemakerand raised seven children in the Portland area. More recently, she retired from Maine National Bank. She was a very dedicated mother and enjoyed being around her family, especially her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed watching NASCAR and her favorite driver Jeff Gordon. But most of all she loved to listen to her daughter Nancy sing and chat with grandson Michael about the ‘good ole days’.
Marion believed totally in God, the Virgin Mary, and Jesus Christ. And now she is meeting them and is able to see them. What a blessing it is for momma! She is survived by her daughters Beverly Gray and husband Steven of MA, Loretta Arsenault and husband Frank of FL, Nancy Deluca of Old Orchard Beach, Karen Greer and husband Robert of Portland, Donna Lamb of Windham, Kathy Keenan and husband Michael of Gray; sister Margurite Nelson of Scarborough; daughter –in-law Priscilla Thomaszewicz of FL;15 grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son Danny Thomaszewicz of FL. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, January 14^th, at Cathedral of Immaculate Conception, Portland , 10 AM . Committal service will follow at Calvary cemetery, S. Portland . In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House, 11 Hunnewell Road , Scarborough , ME 04074 .
