Biography:
CHELSEA -- Raymond E. Taylor, 70, of Hallowell Road, Chelsea, died Sept. 24, 2011 at Maine General Medical Center, Augusta campus, following a long illness.
He was born Oct. 22, 1940 in Gardiner, the son of Henry and Diana (Cloutier) Taylor. He was employed by the city of Augusta for 25 years.
He was predeceased by his parents, Henry and Diana Taylor; sisters, Leona Soucy, Irene Dubriel and Betty Lou Truman; two brothers, Alfred Taylor and Arthur (Duney) Taylor; and his daughter Debbie Lynn Taylor.
Surviving are his wife, Norma Taylor of Chelsea; three sons, Alfred Taylor of Chelsea, Raymond Taylor Jr. of Windsor and Travis Taylor and his wife Christina of Tennessee; daughter Diana Taylor and husband Mike Grondin of Chelsea; step-daughter Jolene Dubriel; sisters Victoria Ames of Benton, Rita Demmerling of Fairfield, Mildred Sukeforth of Chelsea and Carol Soucy of Belgrade; sister-in-law Helen Blais of Chelsea; two brothers, Robert Taylor of New Hampshire and Frank Taylor of Waldoboro; 11 grandchildren, Bambi Messer, Crystal, Mikey, Kayla, Alissia, Melinda, Missy and Joshua Taylor, Katelynn Dubriel, Zachery Peaslee, Justin Wing; great-grandchildren, JD Messer, Alex, Anika, and Cloie Taylor; several nieces, nephews and one aunt, Muriel Gurney of Chelsea.
At his request, there will be no services. At a later time, there will be a private family service. Arrangements are under the care of Funeral Alternatives, 198 Western Ave., Augusta.
A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011, starting at 1 p.m. at the home of Raymond and Norma Taylor.
At this time, the family would like to thank all the doctors and nurses for the great care he received, especially his little angel, Kelly.
