Biography:

Durham - Jean T. Stimpson, 83, passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2018. She was born in Portland, Maine, a daughter of Louis and Mary (Currier) Kane. She enjoyed raising her children in Pownal before moving to Durham. She was a dedicated and loyal employee at L.L. Bean. After retirement she enjoyed being a permanent fixture at the local store helping everyone and spending endless hours caring for her yard. Jean loved her grandchildren dearly, always cooking and being there for them.

Jean is survived by her children: Donna Church, Albert Jr. and Rod and his wife Jane all of Durham. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren: Gerald, Theresa, Martin, Su-Anne, Mandy, Laura, & Erika, 18 great
grandchildren,1 great great grandson and many nieces and nephews. She came from a very large family that she cherished & shared her humor. 

Jean was predeceased by her husband Albert Stimpson Sr. in 1995, a grandson Derek, a daughter-in-law Jill as well as 4 sisters and 2 brothers.

Visitation will be held at Funeral Alternatives - Lewiston on Wednesday, April 4 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM.
A funeral will be held on Thursday, April 5 at 10 Am at Funeral Alternatives.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Jean's memory to the Alzheimer's Association - Maine Chapter, 383 US Route One #2C, Scarborough, ME 04074.
