Biography:

Leslie W. Stewart, 68, of Farmingdale, died on December 22, 2009 at the Androscoggin Hospice House in Auburn with her daughter by her side.

 

Leslie was born in Homestead, Florida on December 9, 1941 to Keith and Dorothy Burrucker. 

 

Leslie enjoyed spending time at the beaches and islands of Maine and Long Island, New York.  She enjoyed creating stamp art including beautiful cards and altered books.  She was known statewide for her art and was published in several art magazines.  She especially loved spending time with her family and friends and giving of herself completely to everyone.

 

Leslie retired from both Pine State Trading Company in Augusta, Maine and Central Maine Power Company in Augusta, Maine.  Prior to Central Maine Power, she worked for the Taxation Bureau for the State of Maine.

 

She is survived by her son, Jerry C. Stewart III of Vernon, Florida; her daughter Lauren V. Stewart and son in law Errol Dearborn of West Gardiner, Maine; her grandsons Isaac Dearborn and Maxwell Dearborn of West Gardiner, Maine; her sister Claudia J. Quintal of South Gardiner, Maine and her children and grandchildren; a brother David Stirrett of New York; her special cousin Karen Henrickson of Setauket, New York; and many dear friends.

 

A celebration of Leslie’s life will be held in the spring.
