Guy Howard Stevens

Biography:

Guy Howard Stevens passed away at Maine General Medical Center on March 29, 2010 in the early morning hours.

Howard was born in Fayette on August 20, 1923 to Guy and Marjorie Dameron Stevens.  He graduated from Kents Hill School in 1942.  He later worked for a time as a pattern maker.

He honorably served his country in the Army during World War II in the European Theater from 1943-1946, receiving the rank of sergeant.

Upon returning home he married Phyllis Gallagher and worked all his life as a self-employed carpenter constructing many homes in the area.  When he was no longer able to work he continued creating many pieces of furniture for his family.

He was a very loyal and devoted father and grandfather, his absence in our lives will be truly felt.

He was predeceased by his wife Phyllis Stevens and siblings Carrie Pollis, Virginia Curran and Robert Stevens.  Surviving are his son Guy Howard Stevens Jr. and his wife Sandra of Granville, Massachusetts, Carlarae Twadelle and her husband John of Pittston, six grandson’s Scott Stevens and his wife Caroline, Matthew Stevens, Douglas Stevens and his wife Jennifer all of Newport Rhode Island, Jay and Ross Twadelle of Pittston and Todd Twadelle and his wife Jennifer of Litchfield.  Guy will also be missed by his loyal Canine companion Susie.

At his request the family will have a private burial at Maine Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
