Biography:

Auburn - Richard B. Spargue, 81, of auburn passed away at his home. Dick was born in Portland on September 27, 1937 a son of the late Partick and Anna Bilter. He came through the rough street of Portland's "Gorham's Corner, later "Sullivan Square." Those few still around know that section of Portland. He attended Staples School and St. Dom's.

Dick was a member of the Merchant Marines at a young age and soon after he learned the meat business. He became the youngest meat manager of one of the now large chain supermarkets. Dick also owned Minot Ave. Engine Repair, and a car waxing shop until heart problems forced him into retirement.

Dick loved to spend countless hours watching and feeding birds and took great pride in the many flower and plant beds surrounding his yard.

Dick is survived by his daughter Pam Hesketh of Auburn, a grandson JeffHesketh and Jessica of Auburn, a great grandson Blake and "the light of all," his granddaughter Isabella. Dick also leaves a granddaughters Jennifer Sprague, Christine Johnson, a daughter Karen Gomez and her children Ryan Gomez and Enjoli Gomez, many good friends who know who they are and Shelby of Auburn.

Services for Dick will be held at Funeral Alternatives 25 Tampa St. Lewiston on Sunday, October 14 from 9 - 11 Am. Committal will be held at Mt. Auburn Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care and direction of
