Biography:
LEWISTON- Rita E. Spencer, 89, of Lewiston, died on May 2nd, 2011 at d’Youville Pavilion with her loving family by her side.
She was born on April 11th, 1922 in Auburn, the daughter of Joseph and Eva Potvin.
Upon her retirement Rita traveled extensively with her companion Edward for 18 years, having visited Indonesia, Philippines, and Hong Kong. They then returned to Lewiston where they were long time residents.
She was a member of Holy Family Church.
Of her many interests Rita especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her dogs, she also enjoyed gardening.
She is survived by her daughters Carol Jacques of Greene, Patricia and husband Andrew Costello of Vancouver, Wash; son Clifford ‘Bud’ Spencer of Portland, Oreg; grandchildren Rob, Joseph Jacques, Christopher and wife Emily Costello, Kevin Costello of Georgia; and several nieces and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents; daughter Gail Spencer; sisters Germaine Potvin, AnitaMorton; and her loving companion Edward Royal.
Rita’s family would like to thank d’Youville Pavilion, 3 East, for there wonderful care.
Family and friends are invited to a memorial Mass at Holy Family Church, Sabattus Street, Lewiston, at 9 AM on FRIDAY, May 6th, 2011.
