Biography:
Manchester, Maine. Lloyd F. Smith, 70, passed away Monday, June 17th 2024 with his loving wife Elaine by his side. He was born in Gardiner, Maine on November 27, 1953 the youngest son to the late Irven and Muriel Smith.
Lloyd grew up in the Gardiner and graduated from Gardiner High School in 1972. He attended The University of Maine Augusta for two years pursing a degree in music, one of his life's passions. He was an amazing business man and entrepreneur. Lloyd and his wife Elaine were the owners and operators of Daggetts Market in Manchester, a cell phone business in Augusta, and a traveling notary for many years.
Lloyd had a passion for music, playing the bass guitar in bands in his younger years. He played tuba in the Augusta Symphony Orchestra, then later played in The Manchester Brass Quintet. Lloyd also loved boating and fishing, spending whatever free time he had on the water with his family and friends.
Lloyd was predeceased by his Father and Mother, Irven and Muriel Smith, and his brother Lee Smith.
Lloyd is survived by his wife Elaine of 48 years, his daughter Lesley Smith and her partner Peter Williams of Vassalboro, his son Adam Smith and his wife Chrisara of Augusta, his daughter Amanda Smith and her husband Cody of Manchester, his grandson Dashel Smith and granddaughters Vivian and Winifred Smith, his brother Larry Smith and his wife Cindy of Chelsea, sister in law Yvette Smith of Florida and a very special cousin who was like a brother, David Smith and his wife Carol of Litchfield, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Lloyd also leaves behind many life long friends he has met on his journey. The amount of stories we could share about him and his sense of humor are endless.
Words cannot express just how awesome Lloyd was. He had a passion for living life to the fullest. He loved his family and friends unconditionally and will be greatly missed.
