Biography:

Carl G Smith passed away on August 10, 2022. He was born November 19, 1956 to John & Elizabeth Smith, growing up in Hallowell, Maine.
Carl spent the majority of his working years with the State of Maine, Department of Transportation in various towns. After his state retirement, he eventually transitioned into his final position, working on the facilities of the American Legion, in which he took great pride in fulfilling.
Carl's greatest honor was serving his country in the Army National Guard for over 20 years. He was part of the 152nd Maintenance Company, where he also gained life long friends.
Carl spent his spare time participating in many hobbies; ranging from fishing, to tinkering, and more. He was a member of the American Legion Riders and American Legion Post 40 - both of which he fulfilled many duties including Chaplain and the Assistant Director of the Riders, AmVets, and VFW Post 887.
Carl is predeceased by his parents John & Elizabeth (Emery) Smith; sister Linda Smith; and son Robert Smith.
He is survived by his soulmate, Jeanne Nicholas & her son Matthew; daughter Kalyna Hutchinson & husband TJ; daughter-in-law Danielle Murphy; brother John Smith & wife Dianne; granddaughters Morgan, Hayden, & Emily; along with aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, & cousins.
The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses, and other care staff during Carl's cancer treatment, and a special thank you to the staff at Glenridge Comfort Care.
