Biography:
Auburn- Cynthia N. Seavey of
She was born on May 10, 1932 the daughter of H. Edward Nye & Mabel E. (Roberts) Nye. She has a BA degree with a major in Classics from the Boston University College of Liberal Arts and later obtained a degree in landscape design from
Cynthia was very active in her community. She was a member of the League of Women Voters, Sweet Adeline’s, and Concord Chorus of Concord, Mass. She was president of Minute Man Home Care in
Cynthia enjoyed designing landscapes for private homes, garden design and implementation, quilting, reading and writing poetry and was an active member of Unitarian Universalist churches, most recently the First Universalist Church of Norway, and enjoyed choral singing in church choirs and community choruses.
Cynthia was an editor for Meriam Webster and the UUA. She later had a landscape design business called Hortus II which she shared with landscape designer Peg Megowen. She designed many landscapes for private homes in
Cynthia was predeceased by her father H. Edward Nye and mother Mabel R. Nye.
She is survived by her husband Marden H. Seavey of Denmark, Maine, children; Clarissa Sawyer and husband Sean Denmark of Acton, Mass., Nye Sawyer of
