Biography:
BATH - Dana R. Richardson Jr, 58, of Bath passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home with his family at his side on March 14, 2018. His wish was to stay at home and be cared for by his wife, Nancy, who made that possible by taking a leave of absence for him. He was born June 20, 1959 in Bath, ME, the son of Dana R. Richardson Sr. and Linda Richardson-Temple.
Dana was raised in Woolwich and educated in Bath. At the age of 14 he began a career digging worms until he couldn't do it anymore. Later Dana went to work as a landscaper, and then also worked for Bath Iron Works as a Grinder and a Welder.
On January 19, 1991 Dana married his childhood friend, Nancy Malcolm, at their home in Bath. They enjoyed 27 years of marriage together, raising 2 daughters, Melinda and Erica.
Dana was loving family man, had a love for dogs, and an extensive pen collection. He also loved his favorite color lime green and his bright lime green sneakers. He enjoyed a good button down flannel shirt, and feeding his squirrels (his buddies). His infectious smile and contagious laugh will be missed by everyone that knew him.
Dana was predeceased by his parents, his father-in-law, Floyd Malcom, and his mother-in-law, Betty Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Richardson of Bath; his two daughters, Melinda Richardson and fiance Dave Perry of Phippsburg; and Erica Richardson and fiance Dustin Cole of Saco; sister, Brenda Swain and husband Howard of Bath; brother, Tim Richardson Sr. and wife Rhonda of Bath; half-brothers, Victor Yeaton of Woolwich, and Chris Yeaton of Brunswick; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family would like to extend a special Thank You to the staff at Mid Coast Hematology and Oncology office, as well as CHANS Hospice for the excellent care provided to Dana.
Per Dana's wishes there will be no services at this time.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Coastal Humane Society, 190 Pleasant Street, Brunswick, Maine 04011.
