Biography:

Bath - Richard “Dick” Osgood Redlon, born Nov. 19, 1933 in Bath, died peacefully on Feb. 27, 2025.

Dick was a long-time businessman and community member, known for his infectious laugh, sharp wit and love of his family. He graduated from Morse High School 1951, Boston University 1953 and met the love of his life Marion Holmes Redlon; they were married six months later and had three children. The first two years were spent at Whitehead Lighthouse where Dick served as an USCG officer. 

Dick returned to Bath and assumed control of his father’s plumbing & heating supply business, Redlon’s Inc. where he was president from 1958-1984 and grew it into 4 branches throughout New England. In 1990, Dick formed Sondik Supply Co and served as VP & Treasurer for 19 years. Dick retired and split time in Florida and his beloved family home at Birch Point. Dick’s work ethic never left him, and he worked as a consultant for Ron Brown Plumbing & Heating from 2012 until the age of 91!

Dick and Marion were avid world travelers and most particularly loved the Great Barrier Reef. Dick had homes in Bath, Portland, Boston, and Florida. He was an avid tennis player, loved watching a good old western, family boat rides on the New Meadows River, reading, history and spending time with his 5 grandchildren. Dick was very involved civically as a member of the planning board, a city councilor, president of the rotary club, President of Bath Historical Society, Bath & Brunswick Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of the United Fund, President of NE Wholesalers Association and served 7 years on the Board of the American Supply Association.

 Dick is predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Marion in 2019 and his son Richard Jr. in 1993. He is survived by his son, Stephen and his wife Julie and their children, Megan and Zachary of Stratham, N.H and his daughter, Susan and her husband Ted Broomhead and their children, Lily, Grace and Piper of Barrington, R.I .
