Biography:
Roberta “Bobbie” (Taylor) Olson, of Auburn, passed away at d’Youville Pavilion in Lewiston, Maine. She was born in Canton, ME on Sept. 18th, 1937, the daughter of Robert and Eva (York) Taylor-Richard.
She grew up in and attended school in Canton, and went on to attend Hanson’s Barber School in Lewiston, ME. She was a member of several social organizations in the area.
She liked spending time at camp, arts and crafts, traveling, all sports (especially NASCAR), crocheting (especially for family), cooking, camping, and above all, she loved spending time with family. She was famous for hosting family holiday gatherings..
Bobbie had an extensive work history. Her standout occupations included being a household manager and owning and operating Maheux Barber Shop where she enjoyed interacting with her clients.
She is predeceased by her parents; first husband, Thomas Joudrey Jr.; siblings, Jeanette Bowie and Robert Taylor; and two grandsons, Thomas Joudrey IV and Jesse Harding.
Bobbie is survived by her husband, Ernest Olson Jr., of Auburn; three daughters and two sons, Paula Marstons, and her husband, Douglas of Canton, Ivy Harding and mate Tom Doiron of Jay, Tommy Joudrey III, and wife Teri of Livermore, Darren Joudrey of Mexico, and Megan Olson of Auburn. She is also survived by her devoted grandson, Jamie Madison, and grandchildren Sarah Harding, Rebekah McLean, Zacharie Joudrie, Douglas Marsters, Miranda Marsters, and Casey Simpson. Bobbie had ten great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews, and greatnieces and greatnephews. She is also survived by one brother, Harry Taylor; and one sister, Marie Canwell.
Services will be held at Gracelawn Memorial Park on 980 Turner St., Auburn ME on Monday, June 16th, at 11am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to d’Youville Pavilion, 100 Campus St. Lewiston, Me 04240, or to Androscoggin Homecare and Hospice, 15 Strawberry Ave., Lewiston, Me 04240.
