Biography:

Kevin Patrick Murphy, 69, of Poland, Maine passed away peacefully on March 16, 2023, at his home surrounded by family.

Born December 11,1953 to Richard William Murphy and Anne Whirl Murphy Kevin enjoyed the outdoors, especially the hiking trails in Maine. He spent much time on hiking trips with his family and his dogs. The woods were always a comfortable place for him. Kevin loved sports. He played football in high school and was very active following his son’s athletic involvements through elementary, high school and college. He helped to coach and was a member of the Poland Regional High School Boosters. He was instrumental in building projects for the athletic fields. His voice at games was always recognizable! Kevin was extremely well read. He especially enjoyed history.

Kevin was a builder working for others and himself until he became employed by Paris Farmers Union where he was the wholesale representative for the company. He worked there for 20 years until he retired.

He was predeceased by his parents and his brothers, Michael Murphy and William Murphy. He is survived by his wife, Martha Stone, his sons Joseph and Elias Murphy and his sister and brother in law Sheila and John Haxton, sisters and brothers in law Kathy and Brian Levitt, Doug and Andrea Stone and Ruth and Robert Gorman. He has many nieces and nephews.

The family will be sitting Shiva on Monday and Tuesday March 20th and 21st from 3 to 7pm. In Lieu of flowers please make donations to the Poland Regional High School Boosters Club.
