Biography:

AUBURN - Mary Ann Morin, 81, of 20 Great Falls Plaza, Auburn passed away peacefully on Monday, February 5, at CMMC surrounded by her family. 

Mary was born July 18th, 1942 in Auburn, the daughter of Charles Edward Morgan and Laura Lydia (Marcotte) Morgan.

Mary was loved by many. She was a loving and devoted mother, Nana, and friend. Her life was strongly guided by her love of her family whom she would give endless love and support and to her faith, she believed strongly that one day she would see her family again and be with God.

She graduated from Edward Little High School in Auburn, ME in 1960. Soon after graduation, Mary married Laurier (Larry) Lionel Morin on June 23, 1962. Together they raised three children: Rachel, Michael, and Christine. Mary worked many jobs throughout her career including processing payroll, manager at a shoe shop, processing chips at National Semiconductor, and working in the returns building of L.L. Bean. Mary became a widow on April 15, 2003, when Laurier passed away suddenly. Shortly after her husband's death, Mary retired.

During her retirement, she enjoyed several hobbies including line dancing, shopping, puzzles, intricate coloring art, stamping, card games, trips to Oxford Casino, and traveling.  Mary has visited, San Diego, CA, Arlington, Texas, (Tampa, Orlando, and Fort Myers) Florida multiple times, Camden, ME, and Hawaii. She had a brief stop in Paris, France, and was excited to have a Coke and a hotdog by the Eiffel Tower.  Being a devout Catholic, her favorite trip was a trip to Italy with a visit to Vatican City; the home of the Pope.

She is predeceased by her parents Charles and Laura Morgan, her husband of over 40 years, Laurier (Larry) Morin, her sisters: Cecile Hecker and Charlene (Nadeau) Cianciatto, and her brothers-in-law: Herbert Hecker, Donald Nadeau, Richard Morin, Donald Morin, and David Laliberte and her sister-in-law Patricia St. Pierre.

Mary is survived by all her children whom she loved dearly, her daughter Rachel Dyer and her husband Lance Dyer of Lewiston, her son Michael Morin and his partner Joanne McCue of Standish, and her daughter Christine Morin-Hill and her husband Kirk Hill of Gray; one sister Patricia McKinney and four fabulous grandchildren, Alaina Dyer, Garrett Morin, Quinn Hill, and Oliver Hill; her in-laws Anita and Daniel Gosselin, Cheryl Morin, Normand St. Pierre, and Monique LaLiberte. She is survived by many other family members, including her longtime friends Maryanne and Ken Withers, Dolly Jones, Charlotte Benware, and Lisa Morin. 

A Catholic funeral mass will be held on May 18th, 2024 at 11 am at Holy Family Church in Lewiston. An interment ceremony will follow at 12:15 pm at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Lewiston in the Large Chapel.
