Ralph David Millett
Date of Death: July 15, 2024
Date of Birth: July 16, 1942
Biography:
Ralph David Millett, lovingly known as David, passed away on July 15, 2024, one day before his 82nd birthday. He was born on July 16, 1942, in Bath, ME, and spent the majority of his life in his beloved hometown.
David was a man of many passions and hobbies. He found great joy in restoring antique cars and muscle cars alongside his son James, as well as building model ships with his dear friend Tim Mayer. In his later years, he enjoyed making puzzles, completing word searches, and cherished the companionship of his loyal dog, Ellie.
A lover of oldies music, David would often be found humming along to his favorite bands. He had an ear for the classics that brought him comfort and nostalgia.
David was a dedicated family man. He is survived by his four children, Lisa West of Wiscasset, Alex Millett of Biddeford, Christina Millett of Bath, and James Millett of Bath. His proudest accomplishment was undoubtedly his children, whom he loved dearly. He also leaves behind five grandchildren, Courtney Fossett of Walpole, Nathan Haley of Westport Island, Alexander Millett of Biddeford, and Gabrielle Millett of Biddeford, and Dezmon Diaz of Bath. In addition, he was blessed with two great-grandchildren, Ophelia and Oscar Fossett of Walpole.
After graduating from Brunswick High School, David served in the Army National Guard Reserves. He then dedicated 39 years of his life as a Rigger at BIW, where he met his wife, Robena Millett. David and Robena celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary this past April.
David's favorite place was camping in the Forks with his wife, two oldest children, and their close friend Herbie Eastman and family. Whether it was riding dirt bikes, hunting, working in his garage with his youngest son James, or simply taking a nap in his beloved Lazy Boy recliner, those were the moments that brought him the most happiness.
David will be remembered for his love and dedication to his family, his infectious laughter, and his ability to make people laugh.
A celebration of life will be held to honor and celebrate David's life at the Bath Senior Citizens Center on Floral St. In Bath, with a date to soon be determined. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to the Bath Fire Department whose outstanding support made it possible for David to remain in his home until his final days.
