Viola Marie Miles passed away peacefully on July 21, 2024, surrounded by family in her home in Brunswick. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, music, dancing, camping, and swimming.
Viola was born to Howard Marshall LaValley and Viola Maude Weeks LaValley, in Augusta, Maine on January 16, 1939. She attended Augusta Schools, leaving school to work to support her family at a young age. Viola (also known as Vi, Peg, Marie, and Peggy), worked in factories, such as the Lipman Poultry Factory and Statler Paper Mills. She also worked in residences and hotels as a housecleaner. Viola was always active, and cared for her Mother much of her life, until she passed away in 1995. Viola's Father passed away when she was only ten years old.
Viola would say, "I always wanted a boy, and I got all girls". She was first married to Clarence Joseph Sirois (married in 1961, divorced in 1971) and had Rose Marie Sirois (1963-), Debbie Jean Sirois (1964-), and Patricia Jean Sirois (1966-1972). Viola Marie married Allan Vance Miles in 1972, who died in 2007. They had two children, Elizabeth Ann Miles (1974-) and Michelle Marie Miles (1976-).
Viola's daughters went on to marry and have their own children. Rose Marie Sirois Charette is married to Brian Charette in 2023. Debbie Jean Sirois Fortin was married to Sonny Fortin in 1996. Sonny passed away in 2023.  Elizabeth Ann Miles was married to N. Todd Lesser in 1999, and they divorced in 2022. Michelle Marie Miles Pruitt is married to Jeffrey Pruitt in 2012. Rose has two children, Isaac Frith (1985-) and Asa Frith (1986-). Elizabeth has two children, Laila Ida Miles-Lesser (2009-) and George Samuel Miles-Lesser (2010-). Deborah's Husband's children, include Annemarie (1956-), Michele (1958-), Debra (1959-), Simone (1962-), Nicole (1965-) and Richard (1967-). Viola's Grandson, Asa, has three children Ashton (2016-), Aveirgh (2017-), and Tyberious (2018-). Viola had many pets, and many grandpets.
Viola also has a nephew, William LaValley, Jr., and his wife Brenda. Additionally, a Niece Sandy Green, and her husband Gary, and her Nephew Dana Lovely.
Viola Marie was a loving Mother and Grandmother. She worked hard, loved to visit family, and was always eager to share a story. She sent Christmas Cards every year, staying connected to family and friends, near and far. She contributed to her church, the local humane society, as well as, the MDA via the Jerry Lewis Labor Day marathon. She loved listening to music and dancing, enjoyed Sea Dogs games, and drives along the coast.
Viola will be buried in Augusta, Maine in August, and her celebration of life will be in September in Vassalboro, Maine.
May Viola Marie Miles rest in peace. She will be welcomed by many family and friends in heaven. She will be greatly missed and always loved by all.
