Bonnie Jean Merrill

Date of Death: December 3, 2023

Date of Birth: October 17, 1948

Biography:

Bonnie Jean Merrill

October 9, 1948-December 3, 2023

Bonnie Jean Merrill, 75, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2023. She was born to John and Jean MacIntyre October 17, 1948 in Augusta, Maine. This is where she grew up, and graduated from Cony High School, Class of 1967.

Bonnie worked in the nursing field doing in-home care and at USVA Togus, where she met the love of her life, Thomas Bradburn Merrill. They were married on October 9, 1976 and shared a lifetime of fun, dedication, and love. They started a family and when her sons reached school age she began a long, fun rewarding career as a “Lunch Lady” in the Gardiner School System, following her children from school to school.

Family meant everything to Bonnie, and as her family grew from three sons to seven grandchildren, she supported all of them in everything from athletics to academics, dance to music, drama to leisure activities; whatever it was, she was always, always there. Bonnie also had a huge family of friends, too many to name, but to Cheryl “Go Tigers,” and to Sue and Betty, a barrel of belly laughs.

Bonnie is survived by her husband of 47 years, Tom; her son Jonathan Eric (daughters Olivia and Evelyn); son Thomas Chad (wife Shan and sons Brock, Lucian, and Nate); and son Joseph Bradburn (wife Megan and sons Parker and Patrick).

There will be no public service, and in lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital of which she was an avid supporter and donor, in Bonnie’s name.
