Biography:

John J. McWilliams—Lewiston—John J. McWilliams, passed away on Friday, August 25 at Hospice House Auburn to be with his wife and his Lord. John was born on July 4, 1935 in Auburn the son of Richard and Sophia Dubois McWilliams. He attended school in Hiram and worked in the woods until he moved to Auburn and worked in the Shoe Shops. John attended the Church of the Nazarene in Auburn for many years and participated in many activities of the church. It was there that he met and married his soulmate Winnifred who predeceased him in 1998. John lived with his daughter Joyce until his sickness and moved to Russell Park Manor in Lewiston. In addition to his wife he was predeceased by two sons, Richard and Roger Dick. Survivors include his sons, Robert Dick of Auburn and Donald Dickson of CT, one daughter, Joyce Dorman of Lewiston, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Friday, September 1 from 9-11 a.m. at the Auburn Church of the Nazarene, 40 Summer Street, Auburn. A funeral service will follow at the church at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Rte. 25, Cornish at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Lewiston Animal Refuge League, 55 Strawberry Avenue, Lewiston, Maine 04240.
