Biography:

AUGUSTA- Richard H. “Dick” McCrossin, 76,of Augusta, Me went to meet his maker on Apr. 8th, 2013 after a long illness. He was born the son of Henry and Ada McCrossin in Wade, Maine on June 20th, 1936. He is survived by three sisters, Carol Stockley of Houlton, Paula Clark of Houlton and Beverly LaPoint of Augusta.

He had three children, Eugene MCrossin of Maine, Cheri  and husband Mike Dejohn, and Beth and husband Frank Long both of Jacksonville, NC; four grandchildren Appolina Michaud, Erin Long, Amanda Munn, and is predeceased by Joshua Munn.; and six great grandchildren.

He graduated from Caribou High School in 1954 and entered the armed forces for eight years. Upon discharge he attended college at University of Maine at Presque Isle, graduating with a Bachelors degree, and University of Maine at Portland-Gorham with a masters Degree.

He taught mathematics at Junior High, Highschool levels, and Vocational and College level. After teaching he worked for Central Maine Power Company and Maine Yankee Atomic Power Company, retiring in 1999.

He was a 32nd Degree Mason, a member of the Washburn Blue Lodge 190, and Anah Temple of Bangor.

One of his life passions was fishing, and he would annually go trout fishing in Canada. He also loved to play golf.

He was so very appreciative for the wonderful care he received at the Harold Alfond Cancer Care Center.

Internment services will be held at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Augusta on July 19th, 2013.
