Elizabeth "Betsy" Mansir, 54, of Augusta, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 17, 2016, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She grew up in West Gardiner, the daughter of the late Harold and June Hinkley.
She graduated from Gardiner Area High School in 1979. She worked for the Maine State Housing Authority as a senior program officer for many years, a job which she truly enjoyed.
Betsy met Randy Mansir in 1981, and together they raised their family.
Betsy loved her family, especially watching and helping them grow into the adults who they have become. She enjoyed bowling in several leagues and tournaments with her family and friends. Betsy enjoyed crocheting almost anything that she could get patterns for, drawing and many other crafts. She recently fell in love with adult coloring books creating beautiful works of art, most worthy of being framed.
Betsy is survived by her husband Randy of 31 years; her children, Lauren Allen and husband Jeremy, Jason Mansir, and Crissy Mansir; her grandchildren, Colton and Sierra; her sisters Linda Newcombe and Mary Carter; as well as her nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Betsy's life will be celebrated amongst family and friends at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Funeral Alternatives, 198 Western Ave., Augusta.
