Biography:
SOUTH CHINA -- Charles Edward Low,
83, passed away peacefully at his home after a long illness on Jan. 3, 2013. He
was born on April 17, 1929, in Vassalboro, to Lena Bessie Smart Low and Charles
H. Low.
Charlie
worked many years in the chicken industry in the China area, as well as for the
town of China doing road repair, salting and sanding the roads during the
winter. After retiring, he made a dump run on Lakeview Drive with his Farmall
tractor three times a week and mowed lawns until be became ill in November
2009.
He
was predeceased by his sisters, Glennis Hall and Charlotte Hallowell; and his
mother and father.
He
is survived by his niece, Cheryl Whitten, and husband David, of Palmyra; nephew
Jeffery Hall, of South China, and Jeffery's girlfriend, Angela Rowe, of
Waterville; and niece Marcia Hall and great-niece Angel Hall-Stuart, of South
China; and great-nieces Belinda Holt and Jenny Whitten, Vicki Marcia and
great-nephew TJ Whitten; several great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and
friends.
The
family wants to thank the nurses who took care of Charlie while he was sick, as
well as for all the care that his niece Marcia, great-niece Angel and nephew
Jeffery provided to Charlie so he could stay at home while being so sick.
Especially to Donna, his nurse, who helped so much with the arrangements the
day he passed.
