Biography:

Bailey Island~ Elizabeth Louise Freeman Pickens Leeman 91, passed away on August 26, 2024. Born on April 25,1933 in Bath Maine to Bessie Mary Price and Alonzo Harry Freeman, adopted by Sam Pickens at age eleven.
 
Elizabeth grew up in rural Maine. She graduated from Brunswick High School in 1949. She married Robert Fowler Leeman in December 1950 in Newport News Rhode Island. She followed Robert for twenty years in his navy career.
 
Predeceased by her husband Robert F., son Robert G, daughter Patricia, and son Royston.
 
Elizabeth moved to her family home on Bailey Island, where she refurbished, prepared and painted her old house. The house was always full of children and pets.  She loved to spend her time reading, knitting, and sewing. Elizabeth loved her flower and vegetable gardens. Elizabeth joined the local church, Sunday school, PTA and scouts. Elizabeth would attend all the sports her children were involved in.
 
Upon Roberts retirement, she kept his lobstering books. She cooked in a local seafood restaurant. Each summer they traveled to their "Bucket List "destinations. Upon Roberts death in May 2020, she lived alone with her two beloved faithful cats.
 
Left behind, Deborah Leeman, Richard Leeman and wife Debra, Rebecca O'Connell and husband Daniel. A niece Wendy Lefavor. Twelve grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren.
