Biography:

BATH - Robert L. Kauffunger, of Bath, ME, died peacefully on September 18, 2018. Born on April 27, 1940, Bob was raised in Brooklyn, NY and Merrick, Long Island.

A proud USN Vietnam Veteran, he graduated with a degree in civil engineering from Northeastern University and an MBA from
the University of Rochester. Before retiring to Maine, Bob worked for 25 years with Kodak in Rochester, NY, and later as a CFP in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

A lifelong learner, Bob enjoyed auditing classes and attending lectures related to current affairs, history and the local economy. When home, he could reliably be found listening to NPR and reading non-fiction, which he loved to discuss.

Bob is remembered for his love of family, his deeply held political ideals and his love of the
outdoors, especially camping trips to Indian Lake, NY.

He will be sorely missed by his wife
Carolyn Kauffunger; four children, Andrew, Keith, Kirsten, and Kevin; sister Carol Bell; brother
Richard Kauffunger; seven grandchildren, and many other extended family members.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Robert Kauffunger's name to Kennebec Estuary
Land Trust, Bath Area Food Pantry, or Friends of Katahdin Woods and Waters.
