Biography:

Marilyn Jean (Garceau) Kane passed away on June 20 following a brief illness. She was born on August 18, 1941 in Claremont, NH to Cecil and Velma Garceau, the second of four children. She graduated from Stevens High School in Claremont in 1959 and attended Lynn Hospital School of Nursing, where she obtained her RN in 1962.

She married John Kane of Lynn, MA in 1962.  They had three children: Brian (1963), Timothy (1965) and Daniel (1970). She worked as a nurse at Lynn Hospital until they relocated to Auburn, ME in1971, and thereafter worked at Central Maine Medical Center, at Montello Manor Nursing Home and Clover Health Care, becoming Director of Nursing at both of those facilities. Her nursing career spanned 50 years. Marilyn excelled at many crafts including knitting, crochet, crewel, and painting. She loved fishing, feeding the birds and wildlife that came to her yard, jigsaw puzzles, and a good Bloody Mary.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Jane, her husband, and her son Timothy. She is survived by her son Brian, his wife Bridget and their daughter Charlotte, her son Daniel and his wife Lynn, and their children Nate, Owen, and Oliver, Owen's fiancee Kyrah Rea, her sister Beverly McKenzie of Albion, ME, her brother Ron Garceau of Sunapee, NH, and her longtime companion Ron Needham. 

There will be visiting hours from 12-1 PM Saturday 29th at 25 Tampa St. Lewiston, Maine
