Jane (Miller) Johnson
November 8, 1930 - April 13, 2016
Jane lived her 85 years filled with many adventures with family and friends. Growing up in Glen Cove, NY, her first love was fishing. She was a professional Girl Scout for 35 years then went on to work with children & teens of chemically dependent families in Florida. She was passionate about the youth, and her work mentoring teens in the Episcopal Diocese of Maine. Her membership in Al-Anon and involvement in Episcopal Cursillo broadened the community of her friends.
Jane was forever a kid at heart. Her favorite activities were knitting, singing in the choir and gardening. She was light hearted and had a way of reminding one to not take life too seriously. She brought faith and light to all who knew her. Jane took comfort in God, and worked tirelessly for peace for others. She touched the lives of so many with her patience, understanding and grace. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Jane is predeceased by her husband, Richard A. Johnson, sons, Arthur and Jarl, and brother, Donald Miller. She is survived by her daughters, Lynn Johnson, Susan Johansson (Peter F. Valpey), Nancy Johnson (Geoffrey Collins), 9 grandchildren, Patrick (Meg), Jane (John), Jeanette, Elizabeth (John), Zachary, Alexandria, Kristofer, Daniel, Katelyn (Ryan) and Jamie, 10 great grandchildren, Haylee, Jake, William, Lucy, Ray, Jaxson, Devonia, Taylor, Lillian, and Lila, 4 nephews, a very special niece and many cousins.
Celebration of Jane's Life will be held Saturday, April 30th, 2016 2pm at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Pleasant Street, Brunswick, Maine
