Burnita "Bunny" Graves

Biography:

BATH - Burnita "Bunny" Graves, 92, of 1 Washington Street, went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 17th, 2016.

She was born in Dresden, Maine on November 13th, 1923 to Oscar and Eulela Pray. She graduated from Wiscasset High School, where she was very involved in school activities.

She was married to Carl R. Graves September 12, 1942 in Bath, where she spent much of her adult life. After graduation from high school she began working at WT Grants in Bath and then spent the remainder of her career at Ernie Back's smoke shop.

Bunny enjoyed many hobbies, including handwork, crossword puzzles, cooking and daily bible reading. She was an active member of Berean Baptist Church in Brunswick. She especially enjoyed working with the youth in the Awana Program.

Bunny was predeceased by her husband, Carl, and grandson, Benjamin.

Survivors include her four children, Robert C. Graves Jr. of Rhode Island and children Rob, Stephen and Matt; David Graves and wife, Jill of Texas and daughter Sara; Linda Bubar of Maine and children Scott and Jennifer; and Michael Graves and wife, Kathleen of Massachusetts, and children Joshua, Colleen, Nathan, Andrew, Nicholas and Cameron. She is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, nieces and a nephew

Bunny spent her final years living at the Plant Memorial Home in Bath, which she greatly enjoyed. She made many friends in both residents and staff. The care she received was exceptional and loving.

We would like to thank Dr. Timothy Howe and staff for their years of support and care.
A special thanks to CHANS caretakers, Dolly, RN, and Jim, PT, for their compassionate care. We were fortunate to receive wonderful hospice care from CHANS as well and appreciate the nurses and personal care aides who made her last days comfortable and peaceful.

A service will be held in the spring.
