Constance V. Girouard

Biography:

AUBURN – Constance V. Girouard, 74, of Sabattus, died on May 3^rd, 2011 at the Hospice House surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Saco, ME on September 28^th, 1936 the daughter of the late Ralph and Rita (Houle) Polley.

Constance was educated in Lewiston schools. On July 11^th, 1953 she married Roger Girouard, he died on July 8^th, 2002.  She worked at CMMC as CNA for 19 years and at Montello Manor for 13 years.

She is survived by four daughters, Debbie and husband Dave Poisson of Sabattus, with whom she made her home, Susan Oxendine of Rowland, NC, Jeannine Stedman of Virginia Beach, VA, Kelly and husband Marc Whaler of Salem, Alabama; three sons Steven, Brian and companion Brenda, Shawn and companion Felicia, all of Lewiston; brother Norman Polley and wife Linetta of Lewiston; brother-in-law Roland Girouard and his wife Mary Jane of Lewiston; 16 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Roger; daughter Paula; sister Patricia Polley; brothers Francis, Richard, and Raymond Polley; and one son-in-law Ricky Oxendine.

Constance’s family would like to extend a warm and grateful thank-you to Dr. Austin and all the wonderful staff at the Hospice House for their excellent care and support they gave to Constance and family members while she was there.

Family and friends are invited to a memorial service at Funeral Alternatives, 25 Tampa Street, Lewiston on Tuesday, May 17^th, at 1:30 PM with committal service to follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Sabattus.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Constance’s memory to the Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice, 15 Strawberry Ave., Lewiston, ME 04240-5960.
