Biography:

LEWISTON — Victor E. Gilbert, 87, of Lewiston, passed away Friday, Nov. 28, surrounded by his family.

Victor was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed dining out and visiting his family in Canada. He worked as a contractor for many years.He was born in Saint-Joseph-de-Beauce, Quebec, on Dec. 11, 1926, to parents George and Marie Louise (Plant) Gilbert.

Surviving him is his loving wife, Muriella E. Gilbert; child, Germaine Gilbert, of North Monmouth; child, Yvon Gilbert and wife, Jodie Gilbert, of Greene; grandchild, Morgan Gilbert; grandchild, John P. Arnoldy and wife, Francesca Arnoldy, and great-grandchildren, Hays and Maeven, of Vermont; grandchild, Thomas Williams and wife, Alison, and great-grandchildren, Damon, Ty and Ember, of New Hampshire; granddaughter, Rebecca Langlois, and great-grandchildren, Zachary and Julianna, of Sabattus; granddaughter, Jennifer Roberts, of Lewiston; and grandson, Steven Roberts and his wife, Justine, and great-grandchild, Cohen, of Lisbon.

He was predeceased by his parents and a daughter, Muguette Roberts.A memorial visitation will be held from 6 to 8pm on Friday, December 5^th 2014 at Funeral Alternatives, 25 Tampa St. Lewiston, Maine. A memorial mass will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, December 6^th, 2014 at Holy Cross Church on Lisbon St. in Lewiston, Maine.
