Biography:
AUGUSTA – George D. Gilbert, 74, of Augusta,
died on March 31st, 2013 at Glenridge Nursing home.
He was born on July 3rd, 1938 in
Lewiston, the son of David and Marie (Bizier) Gilbert.
George worked at Edwards Mills for 15 years and
then for Carleton Woolen Mills for 10 years. He enjoyed roller skating,
softball, basketball, hockey, and was an avid candlepin bowler.
George was predeceased by his brother Norman
Gilbert; sisters Delores Lambert, Georgette Doucette, and Carmen Coffin. He is
survived by his beloved wife Lea; sons Dan Gilbert and wife Monique, David
Gilbert and wife Jeanne; daughter Tina Johnson and husband John; sister Rita
Scarmozzi; grandchildren Matthew, Joshua and Sasha Gilbert, Christina and
Crystal Pooler; great-grandchild Lexi Rose Lessard.
