Dan Gawenus

Biography:

Dan Gawenus age 69, of Lewiston, ME went home peacefully to his Lord and Savior at his home on March 10, 2025 following a short illness. Dan was born on December 8th 1955 to Paul and Bernice Gawenus. Dan grew up and was educated in the Port Jervis New York schools, graduating from Port Jervis High School in 1974. 

He married Linda Gawenus (Crane) on August 3rd 1974 and they moved to Maine in July 1977. Together they raised two children, Jason and Marlana. Dan and Linda have two grandchildren Heather and Riker Gawenus.

Dan worked at US Gypsum and Safe Approach for 32 years. Dan retired in April of 2020. Outside of his faith and work Dan enjoyed spending time with his family, he also enjoyed hunting, fishing, yard sales, and fixing things.

Dan was predeceased by his parents Paul and Bernice Gawenus, and his two brothers Mark and Brian.

Dan leaves behind his Linda of fifty years, his two children Jason and Marlana, his two grandchildren Heather and Riker, plus his extended family. 

The family would like to thank the nurses and aids from Andwell Home Hospice for the love and care they provided Dan. 

A celebration of life to honor Dan will be held on May 3rd at Marston's Corner Baptist Church in Auburn. 10 am visitation with a service to follow at 11am.
