Daniel David Galarneau

Date of Death: June 4, 2018

Date of Birth: November 5, 1983

Biography:

Daniel David Galarneau, 34, of Mercer, Maine, (formerly of Durham, Maine), died on June 4, 2018. He was born on November 5, 1983 to parents, Pamela and David Galarneau Jr.

Everyone who ever met Dan would tell you that he always had a smile and kind words to share. He was a peacemaker and a knowledge-seeker, and he loved his family and friends deeply. When you left a conversation with Dan, you always felt positive and uplifted about this journey we are all on. He especially adored his niece and nephews, whom he showered with unconditional love. Having inherited his father's love of cooking and creating, Dan's loved ones always looked forward to his homemade bread at family gatherings. From the time he was a small child, one of Dan's greatest appreciations in life was for the great outdoors, and most recently being able to work on his own piece of land—a dream come true for him. Dan's dog of ten years, Lady, was a constant companion who brought him much joy.

Most recently Dan worked for All Seasons Tree and Landscaping in Belgrade. He loved working with the trees, and especially in the beautiful state of Maine. Previous to this, he worked at BIW, in addition to many years working alongside his father in the carpentry field.

Dan was predeceased by his father, David Galarneau Jr., maternal grandparents, Armande and Eugene Corcoran, and paternal grandfather, David Galarneau Sr.

Dan is survived by his mother, Pamela Galarneau, his sister and brother-in-law, Tesia and Ryan McCarthy, his nephews, Finn and Fletcher McCarthy, his niece, Dalila McCarthy, his paternal grandmother, Esther Galarneau, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A celebration of Dan's life will be held on Sunday June 10, where friends and family can come and go as they wish, 1:00-3:00 pm. The celebration will be at Crosman Corner Park (at the beginning of Day Road in Durham).

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to an organization you feel promotes kindness and compassion for others, such as the LACO food pantry, the Coastal Humane Society, or Durham Fire and Rescue.
