Biography:

Lewiston – Pauline M Fortin, 91, of Lewiston, Me, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2024. She was born in Augusta on November 20, 1932 to Philias and Marie (Pepin) Gilbert. She attended local schools and later moved to Lewiston where she met the love of her life, Norman Fortin. She was a homemaker / housewife and was employed at Peoples Heritage Bank (TD Bank) for a number of years until her retirement.
On August 25, 1956, Pauline married Norman Fortin at the Basilica of Saints Peter & Paul and together they raised their family. She will be remembered as a truly loving wife and a dedicated mother and best friend to her children. Her greatest joys in life were spending time with her family, the morning visits for a cup of coffee, needle point, cross stitching and sewing. Together, Pauline and Norman spent many winters in Zephyrhills, Florida.
Pauline is survived by her sons Danny Fortin and wife Renee, Michael Fortin and wife Anna, Kenneth Fortin and wife Stephani and daughters Gail Fortin, and Lisa Ronan along with her partner Jeff Kirby. She also leaves behind many Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren; brothers Royal Gilbert and Joseph Gilbert; sisters Violet Richards and Madeleine Pomerleau.
Pauline is predeceased by her husband Norman in 2020, daughter Ann Labbe and brothers Gilles and Paul Gilbert. Visitation hours will be held on Monday, June 10 from 2-4 p.m.  at Funeral Alternatives, 25 Tampa St. Lewiston. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Church on Tuesday, June 11 at 11 a.m.
