Biography:
Joan Breton Flynn, 82, of Lewiston, passed away on December 30, 2020 in her home in Lewiston. She was born on January 5, 1938 and is the daughter of Lucienne and Delphis Breton. She was married to her High School sweetheart, James R. Flynn for over 60 years. She attended Lewiston HIgh School and graduated in 1956. She was a lover of animals and was known to feed the crows and squirrels whole peanuts in her backyard. She enjoyed going to Old Orchard Beach in the summer months with her children and grandchildren and took them all on a yearly trip to Fun Town/Splash Town for fun in the sun for years. Joan loved spending time with her grandchildren and would sing and dance to keep them entertained when they were younger. Always offering a word of encouragement, Joan had many friends. She loved to make them laugh and was often the organizer of social events for her coworkers.
Joan worked at WLAM in her younger years and was the office manager at Skelton Tainter and Abbott for 30 years. She loved to work, and after retiring from Skelton Tainter and Abbott, worked at the LLBean Call Center on Main Street in Lewiston for another 30 years!
Joan is predeceased by her father, Delphis Breton, and her mother Lucienne Nault; her brother Raymond Breton; and her sister Nita Kelly. Joan's husband, James R. Flynn, 81, passed away on May 8, 2019 and her grandson Michael Burnham, 31, passed away in May 2019 as well.
Joan is survived by three adult children: Janis Flynn of Lewiston, Maine; Colleen Hamel and her husband Gary Rivers of Lewiston, Maine; and Jeff Flynn of Portland Oregon. She is also survived by four grandchildren: Ishmael Flynn of Durham, Maine; Jesharechiah Flynn of Lewiston, Maine; Brandon Burnham and his wife Meagan Burnham of Sabattus, Maine; and Jacob Burnham and his fiancee Lauren Graybill of Brunswick, Maine. She also has two surviving great grandsons named Colton and Liam Burnham of Sabattus, Maine.
At the request of Joan, there will be no funeral services.
