Michael "Fitz" W. Fitzherbert

Date of Death: February 2, 2019

Date of Birth: October 6, 1983

Biography:

HARTFORD - Michael was a gift to us October 6, 1983. He was born in Presque Isle, Maine and moved to Yarmouth, Maine with his parents at the age of five.
He went to Yarmouth schools. Growing up in a small village he did many things, ice skating behind Key Bank where they did pick-up hockey games, Boy Scouts, Little League, Lacrosse, took ice skating lessons where he later volunteered to help teach young kids to skate which earned him an award at school for the most volunteer hours. He attended the First Baptist Church in Yarmouth where he enjoyed the Youth Group; one summer they went to Hurricane, West Virginia with the Reach Work Camps to build houses.

He was always riding his bicycle to get where he wanted to go, he was independent even at a young age. As a teenager he liked to skateboard and play Frisbee with friends at Royal River Park which later turned into playing Disc Golf.

Mike shared his Dad's love of the outdoors: camping, fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, four wheelers, and doing charity work with United Bikers of Maine. Mike & his dad also looked forward to snowboarding each winter. He also shared his Dad's passion for Harley's and riding which led him to Motorcycle Mechanics Institute in Orlando, FL to train to be a Harley Technician Specialist where he made Director's List for top grades. He went from school directly to North Country Harley Davidson where he met his North Country Family and Jake Audet, the brother he never had. He enjoyed the work and his co-workers. He did some wonderful trips with some of his co-workers and also always had a big smile when telling us about some of the things they did at work.

He moved on to Columbia Classic Cars where he had a new passion for classic cars and became a Restoration Specialist and met new friends. His circle of friends kept widening. If he called you friend you were one.

Mike was always doing something new; raising pigs, chickens and even joined a dodge ball league. He loved to play his bass guitar. Even with all his interest he did like his time alone just being outside thinking and being around the fire. He was a hard worker and had an amazing soul and he wasn't ready to leave this world. We will always remember his genuine smile & laughter.
This is just a glimpse of his life.

He has left behind many friends & family; please celebrate with each other his life and we will hopefully see you all in the spring to celebrate together. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday June 2, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. at 422 Church St., Hartford, ME.
We welcome you to bring your bikes, Mike would love that.
