Biography:
Keith S. Fanjoy, 84, passed away Sunday October 6, 2024 at home, surrounded by his family, in Auburn, Maine following a long illness.
Keith was born on April 8, 1940 in Dexter, Maine. The son of Stanley and Winnifred Judkins Fanjoy, he graduated from Dexter High School in 1958. Upon graduation Keith attended Officers Candidates School before going on to serve in the US Army. After serving his country Keith returned home to Dexter where he began his long career in the shoe industry at Dexter Shoe.
On May 7, 1966 Keith married the love of his life, Lorna Young at Morses Corner Church in Corinna, Maine. In the late seventies they made their new home in Auburn, Maine where Keith was employed as Plant Manager for several companies in the area including: Timberland, Etonic, LL Bean, SAS, and Cole Hann before opening American Manufacturing in Auburn in the nineties. In the later years of his career he was a consultant within the shoe industry traveling to Korea, Taiwan, India and the Dominican Republic before his retirement.
Keith was a kind, generous, patient, loving man that will be truly missed by all that knew him. His favorite pastime was spending time with his family that he loved so dearly. Keith also enjoyed golfing, hunting, riding motorcycles and following sports.
He was predeceased by his son Ron in April 2024.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Lorna Young Fanjoy and his children Randy and his life long partner Vicki of Nicolasville Kentucky; Reanette Shoulette and her husband David of Canton, New York; Brian and his wife Kathy of Poland, Maine; Brent and his wife Eileen of Turner, Maine. His brother, Roger Fanjoy of Dexter. His grandchildren, Amanda Smith of Raleigh, North Carolina; Derrick Hills of Russell New York; Holly Fanjoy of Wales Maine; Aaron Fanjoy of Turner Maine; Jayy Shoulette of Canton, New York; Zachary Lapointe of Lewiston Maine and Trevor Lapointe of Livermore Falls, Maine. His great grandchildren Aubrey, Payton, Skyla, Bradley, Milana and Giada. His cat Kitten who was a loving companion when he was having a down day.
A celebration of Keith’s life will be held at a later date.
