Biography:
Doris Louise Merrick Dunham, 63, passed away after a long illness on February 22, 2015.
Doris was born in Caribou, Me., the daughter of Dr. John R. Merrick of Augusta and Marjorie V. Jensen of Falmouth. She spent her formative years in Duxbury, Massachusetts, and lived most of her adult life in South Portland and Sydney, Me.
Doris loved her family, her dog Yakki, her plants, and her sports. Not only did she love watching every kind of sport, she knew the rules, nuances and complexities of the games, and was passionate about her teams.
Doris was predeceased by her beloved husband Bruce W. Dunham. She will be greatly missed by her siblings Helen Merrick (Robert Marks) of Las Vegas, NV and Pawleys Island, SC, Jane Merrick Yager of East Greenbush, NY, Hubert James Merrick (Sandra) of Mt Vernon, ME, Nancy Merrick Boyd (Ray) of St Augustine, FL, and Amy Merrick Dyer (Jim) of Old Orchard Beach, ME. She also leaves two stepchildren, Kelly Dunham Cote of Brookline, MA, and Brian Dunham of Manhattan, NY, and numerous nieces and nephews.
