Biography:
Farmingdale-Richard Doucette, Sr. of Madawaska, ME, went to his heavenly home on December 24, 2020. He was born in Grand Isle, ME in 1932.
Richard was a Board member of the Grand Isle Historical Society and a volunteer at Mizpah. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and a long-time member and Past Post Commander of VFW Post 9929 in West Hartford, CT. He was also a member of American Legion 147 in Madawaska, ME, the DAV Chapter #9 in Fort Kent, ME and the Elks Lodge in Wells, ME. He worked at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in East Hartford, CT and North Berwick, ME for 33 years.
He is survived by his wife, Joan (Parent/Cormier) Doucette, his son Richard Doucette, Jr. of Berlin, CT his brother Ronald Doucette and wife Patricia, of Bristol, CT, his sister Anne Marie (Doucette) Philippon and husband Charles of Bristol, CT., step children Joe Witkowski of MA, Gerald (Helen) Witkowski of CT, Brenda (Robert) Chabre, Karen Lewis, Kenneth, Joyce, and Steve Cormier all of ME, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, nieces, great nephews. He is predeceased by two wives – Mary Chaves and Irene Witkowski and his sister Alice.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at later date. Burial will be at Wilson Veterans Cemetery in Wilson, CT.
