Biography:

ARROWSIC - Thomas W. Demers Jr., 71, of Arrowsic passed away on Monday, April 23, 2018 at Mercy Hospital after a courageous five year battle with cancer. He was born on June 27, 1946 in Gardiner, ME, the son of Thomas W. Demers Sr. and Mary Elizabeth (MacEachern) Demers.

Tom served in the Navy and worked as an Electronics Technician and followed that career path until his retirement.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and especially enjoyed his time with his family.

He was predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Mary Demers.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Maureen (Carey) Demers of Arrowsic; his children, Shawn Demers and wife Rachel; Carey Demers; Colleen Demers and husband Hoyt; sister, Anne Hurd and husband Steve; and brothers, Robert and wife Carol, Larry and wife Anne, and Patrick; ten grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special Thank You to Dr. Matthew Dugan and Dr. Arlene O'Rourke at New England Cancer Specialists, Dr. Sarah Davis at Martin's Point on Farley Road, and the staff at Mercy Hospital for the exceptional care provided to Tom.
