Biography:

Winthrop- Rachel Violette DePlanche passed away on February 14, 2024, at Heritage Rehab & Living Center in Winthrop.

Rachel was born in Augusta, Maine, the daughter of Leo and Rose Violette on November 10, 1950.

She worked many years at the Augusta Mental Hospital until her retirement.

She enjoyed her twin granddaughters very much and loved playing bingo.

Rachel was predeceased by her parents, her husband Paul DePlanche, her sisters Gerine Bridges and husband James Bridges, Jackie Lachance, three nephews Jimmy Bridges, Raymond Violette, and Joshua Violette, as well as a grand-niece Katelyn Roselia Bridges.

She is survived by her son Richie Lachance, two grandchildren Liana and Sarah Lachance, two brothers Leo Violette and wife Rina, Conrad Violette, two sisters Rita Violette, Lorraine Dudley and husband Robert, and many nieces and nephews.

At Rachels request, there will be no public visitation.  Burial will be held at Maine Veterans’ Cemetery, off of Civic Center Drive
